ordered the shifter on ebay realized it comes from bull boost. this is hands down the best shifter for miata’s for my style of driving atleast the notchy shits are crispy. yes the bolt under the shifter is annoying u just need to be patient and if your installing on a 5 speed miata trans u have to take off the middle plate the circle one cause it causes its to not get into 5th or reverse cause its just enough height to mess with it idk i was messing with it to get it right but yes buy this shifter
As another review said. The bolt that sits underneath the bracket is not already mounted and you need to remove 2 bolts (pivot allen bolt and the phillips underneath the boot) and loosen the bracket to make it fit.
Once all of that is made, it feels really good and no grinds.
Overall if you dont care about putting a little bit of effort, its a really good choice for the price.
It comes with a cover but i did not installed mine.
Straight forward. Didn’t have shifter boot to cover turret. Used a new Mazda rubber boot to test it and works amazing after. Took time to figure out bolt that sit right under the shifter bracket. Was a pain in the ass. Had to disassemble shifter bracket big bolt to access Allen bolt. Should have used hex bolt, would have been easier for install. Once installed it was amazing. Shifts quick and fast and clean no grind. Overall amazing for price just missing rubber boot and should have pre installed Allen bolt or use pre stalled hex nut.
dosent want to go into reverse grinds 3rd while driving and going into 5th gear is rough
